Meet our Board

Our Board members are passionately committed to improving the lives of carers and bring a wide range of skills and experience to help achieve our aims. Many of them have personal experience of caring.

Chairman

Richard Bialkowski, M Bus, B Bus, Grad Dip Applied Corporate Governance, has extensive leadership, governance and executive level management experience in the community sector at both ACT and national levels. Richard has been on the Board of Carers ACT since 2007 and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

 

 


Treasurer

Robert (Bob) Cotton has extensive public sector leadership, management and diplomacy experience. A former carer, Bob has been on the Board since 2004.

 

 

 

 

 


Bruce Mackay has worked in marketing and advertising for over 30 years and brings invaluable communication advice to the Board. Bruce has been on the Board since 2007.

Brian Joyce brings invaluable advice to Carers ACT on a range of management and organisational issues. Brian has served on the Board of Carers ACT since December 2005.

Barbara Causon an Aboriginal woman and long-term carer, she also sits on the ACT Disability Expert Panel. Barbara is a Public Service Medal recipient and has been on the Board since 2013.

 

Antony Stinziani currently holds the role of Chief Information Officer at Geoscience Australia and is a member of the Executive Board. Antony holds a degree in public sector management and ICT.  He has 25 years experience in ICT across numerous government agencies, the most recent being the Department of Finance and CSIRO. Antony has a keen interest in carers’ issues through personal experience with family and close friends.

Thilini Perera (LLB, GradDip Corporate Governance, GAICD) is a corporate governance professional. She is currently the Company Secretary and Chief Membership Officer at Lifeline Australia Ltd. In her role at Lifeline Australia, Thilini oversees all matters pertaining to governance, risk, compliance and internal communications. Thilini is a legal practitioner of the ACT Supreme Court, and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
