Counselling and support groups

Caring families often feel alone and unsupported. It can help to talk things over with someone who is not emotionally involved – perhaps other carers or a professional counsellor.

Sometimes the stresses and demands of caring brings up difficult emotions. Our counselling service can help you deal with difficult situations and balance caring in your life.

Qualified counsellors are located on site in Holt and Woden to provide carers with professional face-to-face and telephone counselling that can help with stress management, coping methods, communication skills and more.

Click here for more details on the counselling program or phone 1800 242 636 from anywhere in the ACT (free call from local phones, mobile calls at mobile rates).

We also run support groups which enable you to meet other carers, share information and experiences or simply let off some steam. Most groups meet monthly at the same time and place and with over 20 support groups available, we are sure to have one that meets your needs.
