With financial and volunteer support from the community, we continue partnering with carers in the ACT to deliver the support and services they need.
Constitution and Governance
Our organisational documents outline the strategic and governance framework in which we operate and are essential for our accountability to carers, funding bodies and supporters.
Carers ACT is a company limited by guarantee. The organisation is governed by a volunteer Board and functions in accordance with the Carers ACT Constitution.
The Carer Gateway service delivery model
The Australian government announced that Carers ACT was the service delivery partner for the Carer Gateway in the ACT in August 2019. The new service delivery model for the intake and provision of services to carers was adopted on April 6 2020.
Funding
- Carers ACT is supported by funding from a number of sources including:
- ACT Government
- Australian Government Department of Social Services, and
- Australian Government Department of Health.
Other sources of funding include donations, sponsorship and in-kind or pro-bono support.

Carers ACT is endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient organisation and is registered as an Income Tax Exempt Charity.
