August Carer Collective to focus on NDIS review

  • August Carer Collective to focus on NDIS review image

Join us either online or in person this August for our Carer Collective, focused on Part 2 of the NDIS Review.

The NDIS initiated its review in 2022 and has been gathering valuable input and feedback. Now, in this second stage of consultation, they are seeking your solutions and insights to help shape the future of the scheme. Carers ACT is keen to hear from you, drawing on your caring experiences, to help inform our submission.

These two events will particularly focus on the following key topics:

  • Defining “Reasonable and Necessary”: The NDIS acknowledges the confusion surrounding the broad definition of “reasonable and necessary” and the need to have a clearer understanding of what this looks like from the perspective of caring.
  • Navigating the NDIS: What constitutes a good service when it comes to navigating the NDIS? The NDIS has recognised that some of those designated to assist in this process may not be fulfilling their roles. Share your thoughts on what would be essential to getting the best out of the scheme. How can carers be better understood by the system?
  • Supporting those outside of the NDIS: What do you need from services outside the NDIS to feel better supported? How could non-NDIS services work better with the NDIS and vice versa?
  • Designing a better Support Market: The NDIS acknowledges that finding appropriate supports and reliable providers can be challenging, what potential solutions would make a more supportive and effective market?

Join us online on Tuesday 8th August from 5 pm till 6.30 pm (on Teams). Register here Carers ACT Events Portal

Or join us in person on Thursday 10th August from 10am till 12pm at the Gungahlin Lakes Golf Club- 110 Gundaroo Dr, Nicholls. Register here Cares ACT Events Portal
