Canberra & District NAIDOC Awards for Aboriginal Community Sector Worker of the Year

Congratulations to former Carers ACT staff member Katrina Faulder who, this week, won the Canberra & District NAIDOC Awards for Aboriginal Community Sector Worker of the Year.

Katrina (Kat) pictured here on the left, with our CEO Lisa Kelly, is a Wiradjuri woman who worked with our team for the past five years. During her time with us Kat provided a range of services and supports to local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander carers.

Alongside this Kat mentored, coached, supported and guided a team to provide services and supports to more than 1000 carers annually. Kat played a crucial role in ensuring Carers ACT provided culturally appropriate services to carers and other members of the community.

We are so proud of her and her achievement and her contribution to the local carer community. Congratulations Kat, on this outstanding achievement.

In addition, as part of our commitment to engaging in NAIDOC week, we also sent Eva-Lee Williams, our Aboriginal Engagement Officer to attend the Canberra Community NAIDOC Event.
