Financial Planning and Choosing a Financial Planner

Carers are invited to attend the following free financial information sessions provided by the Australian Government.

The Department of Human Services’ Financial Information Service (FIS) is a free education and information service available to everyone in the community. They assist people in making informed decisions about investment and financial issues. They are independent, free and confidential. The FIS has no association with financial products or fund managers. Some presentations may have guest speakers from the financial industry.

The topics covered in this session include:

• Fees and costs
• Disclosure rules
• The financial planning process
• What to consider when choosing a financial planner
