Learn how to look after your body when using it for any carer manual handling task such as, getting someone in and out of bed; off the floor; in and out of a car; from a chair; into a wheelchair; and tips and tools on mobility aids, walking sticks, and frames etc. Learn what to look for when buying a product and how to use this safely to save yourself pain, serious injury, money and time.
This session will include information on ‘good posture’, back care and easy stretches that can be completed at home with handouts provided.
To attend this session, participants will be forwarded a brief questionnaire for completion prior to the session. This will assist in making the presentation specific to carer needs in attendance. This will be emailed to carers 1-2 weeks in advance.
