When you register with My Aged Care, you need to ask for a referral code to access Carers ACT’s services. If you’re not assessed as eligible, or are waiting for services, you can still access these services on a fee for service basis.
If the person you care for has not contacted My Aged Care, or is currently wait-listed, you may be able to access short-term services to support you, the carer through the Carer Gateway.
Carers ACT is the local service delivery provider of Carer Gateway services in the ACT.

Older Persons ACT Legal Service (OPALS) is a specialist service within Legal Aid ACT which aims to provide legal assistance to older people in the Canberra region with legal problems. This can include issues involving elder abuse, enduring powers of attorney, guardianship and financial arrangements with family members.
